Hello and Welcome to my Blog ~ I love art of all kinds. Two of my favorites are polymer clay and paper art. I have shops on Etsy that feature both of my passions. I also love writing my blog and finding artists that have a passion for their craft and feature them. I hope your day is filled with sunshine, laughter and loads of creativity.

Dressing Up Artist Mannequins

I have been having so much fun dressing up these artist's mannequins.

I loved the idea of creating a ballerina.  I used polymer clay for her hair and ribbon for her bodice and tutu.  I painted her shoes, added pearl beads to the bodice and a braided hairpiece to complete her.

This was a fun one to make.  I call her my Forest Mannequin.  Her dress is made of felt with a multi colored ribbon tied at the waist.  She holds a bouquet of flowers picked fresh from the meadow this morning.

This one is a work in progress. I plan on making her a very fashionable young lady! Her hair and hat were created using polymer clay.  Stay tuned to see her completed.

The Ballerina and the Forest Mannequin are for sale in my Etsy Shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/Sandyscreationinclay

I've Been Busy Creating

As you can see, I have been quite busy in my craft room.

A dear friend of mine asked if I could create a hummingbird.  Well, here is my first attempt at making one.  I added a bit of sparkle to his wings and tail feathers.

I love paper dresses!  I made this one out of card stock (which I embossed) crepe paper, satin ribbon and a satin bow.  I mounted it on a 5"x7" canvas which I painted pink and personalized it with my daughter's name. I have this one for sale in my Whimsy Kreations Shop.

I created this little scene on a 6"x6" canvas which I painted a copper color. I spritzed Glimmer Mist over a stencil to give it a pattern then added my embellishments. I used polymer clay to make the bird who is sitting on twigs that I gathered from my yard.  I added a flower and the word 'Imagine' to make it complete.

This is Forest Fred who has been busy gathering wheat for the winter.  I found this large acorn cap at the Dallas Arboritum a while ago and realized that it fit Fred's head perfectly.  I created him out of polymer clay and gave him black beads for  eyes.

Another Altered Mannequin

I had so much fun working on this artists mannequin.  She's wearing a polymer clay hat, a classy mod podged zebra striped outfit and black painted shoes. After all, what more could a girl want??

I removed her from her ridged metal and wood stand so that I could pose her in a more relaxed position. I thought she looked as if she just popped out of a fashion magazine.
