MelodyODesigns - Wonderfully Unique Polymer Clay Jewelry

I would like to introduce you to MelodyODesigns ~ a fabulous Etsy Shop featuring whimsical and colorful art jewelry and ornaments made from polymer clay, where butterflies, ladybugs, and Bakelite reproductions abound.

Anita resides in Arizona and discovered polymer clay 16 years ago.  It has become her preferred medium because it's so versatile, strong, and can be mixed into a virtual rainbow of exciting colors just begging to come out and play.

This collar type necklace features a charming detailed orange Monarch butterfly taking a nap amidst a wide variety of colorful autumn leaves and acorns. Whimsical Ladybugs dance on the leaves. The butterfly is adhered to an aluminum backing that allows the wings to be position-able and it appears to be poised for flight. All the components, including the complex caned butterfly and the tiny ladybugs, are handmade “from scratch” in her studio using artist-quality polymer clay. Each leaf is cut by hand from a pattern made of a real leaf and the veining imprint on some of the leaves is made from real leaves. The acorns are made from molds she made from real acorns.

This Patriotic smiling Cat pendant necklace of Red, White and Blue, celebrates both our love of country as well as the Cats in our lives. It can also be worn as a brooch. The cheerful and whimsical cat features realistic caned eyes, brush bristle whiskers and a cat collar decorated with white stars.

This smiling and whimsical mint green Angel Cat hanging ornament is decorated with pink roses. It’s perfect for celebrating Mother’s Day, Spring, cats, or a wonderful way to honor and remember a beloved departed pet. Hung from the ceiling, window, houseplant, or decorating a computer or cubical, its sunny disposition it will bring you smiles.

This winsome floppy eared Hound Dog pendant necklace in French Blue and lavender can easily be converted to wear as a brooch. It’s an original design meticulously handmade from artist-quality polymer clay. His endearing puppy face makes him the perfect piece of jewelry to wear in honor of the dogs in your life and those who are now Angel Dogs. It also makes a perfect inexpensive gift for the dog lover.

The bat is made to resemble a model 125 ash Louisville Slugger. For a bit of fun that makes the necklace even more special, you can specify that the fake “autographed signature” of your favorite player be added to the bat. The glove is very detailed so you can see the stitching and lacing. It makes a wonderful gift that’s very unique.

This red cherry necklace with GREEN chain is a faux Bakelite inspired reproduction of a popular necklace from the 1940’s. It is constructed on a GREEN plastic chain and features the contemporary addition of two tiny whimsical studio made ladybugs. There are five pairs of bright and shiny red cherries and eleven medium dark blue-green leaves. Handmade from artist quality polymer clay.

Polymer Clay Perfume Pendants ~ Necklaces and Corsets

SandraArts

From the Artist:
I live in Sisak, a town in central Croatia with my hubby, two fantastic kids, basset hound and a parrot:)

I am a self-taught polymer clay artist.  My work is characterized by playfulness and asymmetry of the composition with carefully combined colors.  I like to combine different shapes and textures.  Each bead is unique and made with a lot of love and attention.  My work has been published in a "European Polymer Clay Book" and featured on Polymer Clay Daily.

                                                                             Editor's Notes
Because I lived in the southwest for a large portion of my life this necklace appeals to me.
I love the details and the colors that Sandra used in creating it.

This little necklace is adorable.  Sandra calls it 'Love Street'.
She can create the houses in any color combination.

Nix Creations

What a wonderfully creative idea Matthew Nix had when he created these Perfume Pendants.

From the Artist:
My name is Matthew Nix and I call home, Collinsville, IL. I started making jewelry by accident. I wish I could say is was all planned but who really plans for this kind of stuff in life? My grandmother used to make brooches and hatpins with fried marbles. I thought they would make great pendants and quickly started selling them to stores worldwide. I then got into wire wrapping. Wire wrapping is my main passion when it comes to pendant making. I'm not the best and not the worst. I then got into polymer clay and more recently the art of fused glass.

These wire wrap perfume pendants are my original idea.

What is a perfume pendant? It is a pendant that defuses perfume while your wear it. Simply put a drop of your favorite perfume in the middle of the flower. The oils will cling to the clay petals and will emit scent, longer than wearing it on your skin. You can wear perfume and perfume oils on this pendant. You can wash the pendant with soap and water to change the perfume you want to wear on it.

This pendant is wire wrapped in nontarnishing silver wire. The flower bead is made from polymer clay. Accented with dangling swarvoski crystals and silver beads.

Artistry of Sharon House and Kim Peters

I absolutely love this necklace and hope you love it as well. It was crafted by Sharon House from Victoria, Canada.

The Artist's Own Words:

I have been anxious to show you the beautiful polymer clay necklace I made at my claying retreat with Helen Briel and Eugenia Chan in Vancouver a couple of weeks ago. What a fun retreat it was. Both of these ladies were just absolutely wonderful... more patience with our group than I could ever muster up I am sure LOL. If you ever get the opportunity to have a workshop with either of them, I would highly recommend them. I am just tickled with the results...

I came across Kim Peters shop on Etsy
and fou
nd it to be full of beautiful pieces
and her style very unique.

About The Artist ~ Kim Peters

When I was about eight or nine years old, I asked my parents for an easel and oil paints. I can't now remember why I made this request. None in my family is artistic and, in fact, wants to be. All I can guess is that I had some secret desire to be an artist, a dream that was perhaps fed by the occasional glimpse of all the g oodies in the elementary school's art closet. My parents did buy me the easel and paint, and I spent happy hours at it making colorful blobs. Sadly, I couldn't and still can't draw.

(but, I must say, she can create beautiful jewelry!)

In the Artists own Words

This versatile necklace features one of my polymer clay flower pendants textured in a swirl pattern and colored in blue, rose, and lavender. A pewter flower button forms the center of the flower. The back of the pendant is also decorated with a lace pattern in black and blue. The pendant bail is sterling plate.

I urge you to visit Kim's shop where you can find so many more of her beautiful pieces.
